ARC Best — UX SCIENCE

INTRANET REDESIGN

ARC Best wanted to redesign their employee portal to improve efficiencies among their 20k employees. I led the redesign as I identified and executed the right strategy.

DISCOVERY

I interviewed subject matter experts and conducted a usability test with employees representing a broad range of user types. I also reviewed current approaches to intranet design to pull insights that applied to ARC Best's unique needs.

Synthesis

I synthesized the research findings into key objectives and supporting tactics that helped the team understand and unite around the redesign strategy. I also created personas from the user research findings to present insights so they are easily interpreted into design solutions.

INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE

I conducted an audit to document all of their content and current IA. I then used insights from user testing to create a new and improved IA.

DESIGN

I created user stories and flows to guide me through designing wireframes. I made search prominent as it's the #1 factor affecting efficiency. I created an editorial section so employees will feel connected with corporate and the subsidiary they're under. I designed a dashboard with the most important and frequently used items. I also created a section for widgets that dynamically appear based on the user's profile.
